automatically encode your DVDs
- download the encode.dvd.scpt AppleScript
- unzip it and put it wherever you like
- open System Preferences and go to CDs & DVDs
- change "When you insert a video DVD" to Run script and choose the encode.dvd.scpt
- close System Preferences
- download the encode.dvd.sh shell script
- remove the .txt extension and put it wherever you like
- open encode.dvd.scpt in Script Editor
- change the path to wherever you put encode.dvd.sh
- save the file
- open encode.dvd.sh in your favorite text editor
- follow the in-file instructions to change the disk1 to whatever the DVD drive is numbered on your system
- replace the dummy handbrake command with your real one
- if you don't have growlnotify installed be sure switch notifications to just use echo
- save the file
- insert a DVD
- wander off
